I study physical oceanography, mostly upper ocean dynamics and transport in coastal regions.
I am most interested in studying parts of the ocean that humans interact with regularly. These include the ocean surface and the coasts. I am currently working in two main areas: the interaction of wind, waves, density, turbulence, and ocean currents within a few meters of the sea surface, and the transport of larvae and other particles on the continental shelf, with a focus on the east coast of North America.
